The pink arrives first and it does not wait to be invited.

Look at where it stops
Follow the pink to its boundary. It does not fade out, it does not soften into the grey beside it. The two colours meet and hold, edge to edge, like a sentence cut off mid-word. Anya works that way on purpose: one big gesture, one mass that answers it, and no blending to make peace between them. Paint laid down fast and left alone.
