Sofia pours the sky and lets it move, then paints three things on the horizon and stops. The northern lights over still water, and a great deal of quiet.

The Studio
Where Sofia works.
A small studio on the island of Gotland, Sweden. Pale wood walls, a wood stove, and one huge window facing the sea.
The Story
Get to know Sofia.
What inspires her
The moment the whole sky opens over a still fjord. The boathouse, the birch, the jetty, the lighthouse: whichever three things were there when it happened.
How the work gets made
Acrylic and resin are poured and moved with a knife and compressed air until the sky is right. Then two or three elements are painted sharp on a low horizon. Everything she leaves out is a decision.
Poured acrylic and resin worked with a knife and compressed air for the sky, then two or three elements painted sharp on a low horizon.
The Practice
What makes a Sofia Larsson a Sofia Larsson.
Pour
The sky moves
Poured acrylic and resin, pushed with a knife and air until it flows like the lights.
Horizon
Kept low
Two thirds of the frame is sky. The horizon is a single sharp line.
Three
Things at most
A boathouse, a birch, a jetty. Never more than three.
“Everything I leave out is a decision. That is the only work there is.”
— Sofia Larsson

Antler Held Skyward: One animal, one ridge, two hundred litres
The reindeer is thirty centimetres tall and took four hours to paint. The aurora is everything else.

Lamp Waiting Alone: one light holds a pier through dusk
The lamp stayed on after the last ferry left, doing what it does whether anyone watches or not.
16 Oct 2026
Hull Resting Frozen: When the Harbour Itself is the Light
The boat is still. The aurora is not. I painted the difference.

Ember Through Silence: One Window Under the Aurora
The cabin is a dozen brushstrokes. The aurora is everything else.
9 Oct 2026
Lamp Becoming Morning: Aurora Over First Snow
The lamp stays on through the aurora because someone forgot to turn it off at dawn.

Tower Watching Solstice: the lighthouse holds still
The aurora moves. The tower does not. That split is the piece.
Follow the Work
Sofia's next piece is coming.
Her pieces go in cabins and coastal homes, and in the rooms that need to be quieter.
One email when it drops. Nothing else, ever.
