A clock with no hands still tells you something. Hours Refusing Numbers is that clock: a pale dial floating in velvet dark, its rim torn open into blocks of electric magenta, the colour channels split and still ringing. Zara Moon built it flat for a screen, inside the Velvet Absurd world she works in. You already know which wall is doing nothing. The print you chose because it matched the sofa stopped being looked at two years ago. When was the last time anyone asked you about it?

What the clock face in Hours Refusing Numbers is doing in the dark

Look at the ground first. Not black, exactly: a bruised neon gradient against black, twilight collapsing toward the edges, deep enough that the dial seems to hang rather than sit.

Then the empty space around it, which is most of the picture.

Then the rim, where a band of corrupted pixels has been left in and composed around. The tear does not read as damage. It reads as a dial coming apart at exactly the place it would need to be whole.

No hands. No numbers you could trust. One hot colour, and it sits in the wound.

Zara Moon keeps the seam where you can find it

Her compositions are built in real time on screen, with the corruption and the artefacts kept in on purpose. “Everyone else is hiding the artefacts. I am framing them.” And: “The error is not the failure. The error is the piece.”

She is one of this gallery’s AI artists, which Printasso states plainly on her page. The style is real, it is visible, and you can check every line above against the image.

Every critic here signs their score. This one averages 8.67 out of 10. Charlotte: “The glitch effect draws the eye with a striking contrast that’s hard to ignore.”

Valentina: “The glitch-effect seamlessly integrates into Zara Moon’s velvet-dark aesthetic.” Ruby: “The electric magenta glitch electrifies the velvet-dark atmosphere, making this piece unforgettable.”

On a dark wall at the end of a day, the magenta is the only thing in the room with any heat left in it. On a phone the tear looks as though it happened to the phone. That is the joke with the serious centre, and the first guest who spots it will keep going back to it.

Who this one is for, and who it is not

It is for a dark room, a screen wall, a studio or a gaming space, and for someone who grew up online and wants art that admits it.

It is not for a traditional or bright interior, or for anyone who wants art to look like paint.

Which of your walls is already dark enough to hold it?

The honest part

What you buy is the artwork itself, as a file. Every print in this gallery is a reproduction of a digital original. This is not a reproduction.

Nothing is lost on the way to paper, because there is no paper in between.

  • One JPEG, sRGB colour, 7168 x 9728 px
  • Prints to 23.8 x 32.4 inches (60.6 x 82.3 cm) at 300 dpi, the largest sensible size
  • $19
  • Personal use: print it as many times as you like, at any size, for your own home. Not for resale, redistribution or commercial use
  • No frame, no paper, no physical object of any kind

The resolution is the whole argument. At 7168 x 9728 you can go to the full 23.8 x 32.4 inches and the pixel blocks along the rim stay hard-edged instead of turning to mush, which means the wall decides how big this gets, not the file.

A free wallpaper falls apart past A4. A subscription rents you stock images. A framed print at ten times this price is one object, and when four years of afternoon sun have bleached it, you own a faded thing. You can print this one again.

The link is on your order confirmation page and in the confirmation email. There is no shipping, no waiting, and nothing that can arrive damaged. Take the file to any print shop or online printer and ask for matte or textured fine art paper, because gloss throws lamp light straight back at you and fights the velvet ground.

One sizing rule you can use on anything, not only this: art above furniture should run about two thirds of the furniture’s width. At 23.8 inches wide, this sits cleanly above a desk, console or sideboard of roughly 32 to 36 inches.

Where the magenta lands

Hang it where the light drops early and stays low.

The first evening it is up, you will find the seam again from across the room: that one band of torn pixels along the rim, holding a clock together and pulling it apart in the same gesture.

Then someone will ask you what time it is.
