The lamp is already on and nobody has sat down yet.
A long table, set the way a table gets set when the cooking is the whole point. A bowl of lemons. A bottle of red. Fresh pasta laid out on a floured board, waiting.
Look at the flour
It is still in the air. Marco caught the handful halfway down, a scatter of white dust over the board, catching the lamp. Everything else in the picture is holding still, and that one thing is not. It is why your eye goes back, and why you lean in a second time.
Then find the tabletop where the lamp light stops and the shadow starts. Two colours, one join, nothing blended after. “I do not own a brush. Everything here came off the knife.” There is a ridge where the knife lifted off, a shape of colour on a smooth surface, and it tells you exactly where he stopped and left it. “You can see every decision I made. That is the whole point.”
What happens once it’s up
Hang it in a dining room or over the sideboard and the picture does something to the hour. The critic Ruby put it plainly: “The textured brushwork translates beautifully, evoking warmth and depth on a smooth matte substrate.” People notice the lemons first. Then someone spots the flour and points at it.
Sizes, and one rule
A useful rule: the picture should be about two thirds the width of whatever furniture sits under it. Landscape, 16×12 in (41 x 30 cm) at $29, 24×18 in (61 x 46 cm) at $49, 32×24 in (61 x 45.7 cm) at $69. Most rooms want the middle one.
A high quality print of a digital artwork on archival matte paper, so a window opposite gives you the pasta back instead of your own ceiling light. Printed edge to edge with no white border, so it suits a frame you already own or looks right pinned up bare. It arrives rolled in a tube, made to order in up to ten business days plus delivery, and shipping is free in the continental US. The price you see is the price. No bidding, no premium.
One honest thing
This is warm, loud colour: ochre, terracotta, lamp-yellow. In a cool, minimal room that wants a quiet surface, it will argue.
If it sounds like your kitchen, take it home. If you want to sit with it, look through the rest of Marco’s work, or follow him and you’ll see the next one first.
One is a piece. Two is a set. Three is a collection.
Almost nobody stops at one. A second work by the same hand turns a wall into a pairing. A third turns it into something you chose rather than something you bought. There are 6 other works by Marco Bellini available.
