There is no horizon in this one. No figure, no object, nothing you can point at and name.
Anya took all of that out and left you the movement instead: two enormous colour fields, cyan and orange, meeting along an edge where neither one will give way.
Look at where the magenta goes in
A magenta wedge drives straight into that seam. It is the second of impact held still, and it is the thing people describe twice. A second colour breaking through a colour field means the field was not blended shut. The earlier decision is still visible under the later one.
Then follow the big sweep out to the edge. It does not stop politely. It runs off the picture, because the arm kept moving past the canvas and what you have is a section of a bigger movement.
Anya works flat on purpose. Clean shapes, hard confident edges, colour that collides instead of agreeing. I paint with my whole body or I do not paint. Our critics average it 8 out of 10. Ruby wrote: “This piece captures monumental movement with daring color choices and crisp geometric planes.”
What it does once it is up
It is the reason someone stops mid-sentence when they walk in. Over a sofa, a sideboard, or down the long side of a hallway, it pulls the room toward it. Two colours that refuse to agree, and a magenta wedge going in anyway. That is the whole room’s conversation starter, sorted.
Sizes, price, and no surprises
It is a high quality print of a digital artwork on archival matte paper, smooth and non-reflective, so a lamp or a window opposite gives you the picture back instead of a glare. Printed edge to edge with no white border, so the colour runs right to the trim with nothing interrupting it. It arrives rolled in a protective tube, ready for a frame you already own or fine pinned up bare.
Landscape 16×12 in (41×30 cm) is $29, 24×18 in (61×46 cm) is $49, and 32×24 in (81×61 cm) is $69. The 24×18 is preselected and suits most walls. A simple rule: your picture should cover about two thirds of the width of the furniture under it, so if the wall is wider than the sofa, go to 32×24. Scale is not showing off. Scale is the only honest size for this.
Made to order, up to ten business days in production plus delivery, free shipping in the continental US. The price on the work is the price.
One honest thing
This one is loud. If you want a picture that stays in the background and keeps the peace, you will not love it. If you find calm boring, you already know.
Take it home, or have a look at the rest of what Anya has made. Following her works too, and you will see the next one before anyone else.
One is a piece. Two is a set. Three is a collection.
Almost nobody stops at one. A second work by the same hand turns a wall into a pairing. A third turns it into something you chose rather than something you bought. There are 6 other works by Anya Volkov available.
