Moreau prices motion at the impulse threshold.
The ask is $49 for eighteen by twenty-four inches
That is poster, not canvas. The canvas runs $169 at the same size, which puts you in framed-original territory for a piece this saturated. The cadmium and cobalt she leans on do not forgive a cheap substrate, so if you are buying this you are buying the canvas or you are buying the download at $19 to test the wall first. The poster sits in the middle and does nothing.
Eighteen by twenty-four is the size that works. It holds the hand and the window in the same sightline without demanding the room reorganise around it. The 12×16 collapses the gesture. The 24×32 asks for a feature wall and this is not a feature piece – it is a moment, and moments read better compact.
She works in a run and this is the one to buy
Moreau has four pieces live in the Café Fauve series now. This is the third. The motion is tighter than the earlier work and the palette has settled – she is not experimenting anymore, she is executing. That means the next piece will likely push further, and this one will read as the hinge. It is worth owning the hinge.
The panel scored it 8.67. That is high enough to move at this price without discount, and Printasso does not discount. The score also tells you it is not the standout of the run, so if you are waiting for her to make the piece worth $400 on canvas, you wait. This is not that piece.
Buy at poster if you are testing Moreau, canvas if you are committed
The $49 poster makes sense if you have never bought her work and want to see how the Fauve palette sits on your wall under your light. The canvas at $169 makes sense if you already know. The gap between them is wide enough that the poster does not read as a step toward the canvas – it reads as a different purchase entirely.
Verdict: Buy at a lower tier. The download at $19 or the poster at $49, but skip the canvas unless you are already collecting the series. The piece earns its price, but the motion Moreau captures here works as well on paper as on stretched fabric, and you do not pay the canvas premium for something this kinetic.
