Sizes & materials

Stretched cotton canvas on a 38 mm wooden frame, matte surface. The image wraps the sides, so there is no white border at the edge, and it arrives ready to hang — no framing, no glass, no extra bill.

Sizes: 12 × 16 in · 16 × 20 in · 18 × 24 in.

Delivery

Made to order: your piece is printed after you buy it, which takes up to 10 business days and usually less, then travels in a rigid tube or a flat mailer.

Shipping is free everywhere in the continental United States, with no minimum. Alaska, Hawaii and the US territories are a flat $12. We also ship to 33 countries, including Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany and Australia, at a flat $29, shown at checkout. Downloads are available worldwide.

Returns

If a print arrives damaged, or is not what you ordered, tell us within 14 days and we will replace it or refund you in full. Because every print is made to order, we cannot accept change-of-mind returns on printed pieces.

The bus is about to pull away, and the colour is not coming with it.

Look at the roof. Orange, magenta, cyan and yellow are pouring straight up out of it and streaming off the back, like the bus is driving out from underneath its own idea. Half a second later there will be nothing up there but grey.

The part you notice second

Every other burst you have seen wraps around a subject and frames it. This one leaves. Kai builds the Routemaster in clean hard vector greys – flat London-grey ground, sharp edges, the people only silhouettes, nobody facing you – and then lets exactly one thing go. Sharp line, loose spray, neither side winning. The drips fall the wrong way for gravity because the paint is going up, not down.

That is why it lands before you even register it is a bus. It reads as a thought escaping a head. One eruption per picture, always leaving.

What happens once it is up

Grey walls stop being grey. The burst does the work from across the room, and up close you get the overspray, the fine speckle at the edge of the pour. It is energy without a slogan on it – nothing to read, nothing to agree with, just a thing that fires every time you walk past.

People ask about this one. They ask about it standing up.

Sizes and the plain numbers

Matte stretched canvas, a high quality print of a digital artwork, made to order – so nobody else in your building has it. It comes stretched over solid wood, an inch and a quarter deep, image wrapping the edges. One nail and it is done, straight from the box, no frame to buy and no glass bouncing your ceiling light back at you.

The 16×20 portrait (41 x 51 cm) is the one most people take, at $149. Smaller 12×16 if it is going over a desk, 18×24 if the wall is wide. Free shipping in the continental US. Up to ten working days to make, then it ships.

Who should skip it

If you want calm above the sofa, this is the wrong picture – it is loud on purpose and it stays loud.

If loud is the point, take it home. Or have a look through the rest of Kai’s grey world first, and follow him, so the next burst turns up on your feed before anyone else sees it.
