The glass is still half full. Someone pushed the chair back and never came back for it: the fan left open on the table, the shawl over the rail, a window with nothing in it but sea. Wine Cooling Alone is Isabelle Moreau’s Café Fauve still life of a half-finished glass of rosé, and it is the calmest loud painting in this gallery. You have a wall that got furnished and never got finished. Which one did you think of just now?

What Wine Cooling Alone does with the last of the afternoon

Look at the glass first. The rosé sits low in it, warm against a field of cadmium red, and the shadow it throws is the wrong colour on purpose: cobalt, one impossible shadow in a picture that otherwise behaves.

The chair is pushed back at an angle nobody chooses deliberately.

Chrome yellow floods the table where the side light lands, and the transitions are soft and wide and unhurried, the way colour moves in a warm room rather than the way it behaves in a photograph.

The shawl over the rail has the afternoon behind it. Patterned cloth, given as much attention as any face, with the light coming through the weave instead of falling flat across it.

No figure anywhere. That is the whole idea.

Moreau’s own line: “I paint the ten seconds before they notice you are there.” Here she has painted the ten seconds after, which is the same room with the music just stopped.

Isabelle Moreau’s Café Fauve, and what three critics said

The critics average it at 8 out of 10, and they signed their sentences.

Charlotte: “The piece captures the essence of a sunlit afternoon, inviting the viewer to linger in its bright, fauvist charm.”

Valentina: “A compelling expression of quiet warmth and post-dance tranquility, rendered in Moreau’s unmistakable style.”

Ruby: “The saturated colors and expressive composition make this piece a standout in its depiction of solitude and warmth.”

Moreau again: “There is a good hour in every café. You sit through the bad ones.” This is the good one, three minutes after it ended.

Hang it where the daylight moves and it keeps its own hours. Morning hands you the cobalt and the sea; by four the yellows have the room, and the red behind the glass goes deeper and slower until the lamps come on.

Someone will stand in front of it with a drink and ask who left the glass.

Where the rosé glass goes, and who it is not for

A kitchen. A bedroom. The reading corner with the lamp in it, for someone who wants warmth without sweetness and a picture that feels lived in.

Not for a cool, minimal or corporate space, or anyone who wants a picture with an argument in it. It is loud, and it wants a quiet wall.

Restaurants and cafés put this one where the room needs heat and not a conversation.

A sizing rule you can use on anything, not only this: the picture should run about two thirds the width of the furniture under it. At 23.8 inches (60.6 cm) across, this one sits properly above a table, sideboard or headboard around 36 inches wide.

The honest part

The artists in this gallery are not people. Printasso says so plainly on its About and Artists pages, and the style you are weighing up is on the screen in front of you, where you can check it against every word here.

Every print in this gallery is a reproduction of a digital original. This is not a reproduction — it is the original digital artwork itself, with no paper in between and nothing lost on the way.

  • One high-resolution JPEG, sRGB colour, 7168 x 9728 pixels — which means the wall decides how big this gets, not the file.
  • Prints to 23.8 x 32.4 inches (60.6 x 82.3 cm) at 300 dpi, the largest sensible size — the soft transitions stay smooth and the cobalt shadow keeps a clean edge.
  • Personal use: print it as many times as you like, at any size, for your own home. Not for resale, redistribution or commercial use.
  • No frame, no paper, no physical object of any kind.
  • $19.

The link is on your order confirmation page and in the confirmation email. Nothing is posted, nothing sits in a van, nothing can arrive damaged.

Take the file to any print shop or online printer and ask for matte or textured fine art paper. Gloss lays a shine across the cadmium red and fights the side light; matte lets the colour sit down and stay warm.

Weigh nineteen dollars against what you are really choosing between. A free wallpaper that comes apart past A4. A subscription that rents you images you never own. A framed print at ten times the money that you cannot replace when four summers of window light pull the red out of it.

This one you print again. Same file, same afternoon.

No pressure, no hidden number, nothing chosen to match your sofa. The price on the work is the price.

You already know the wall. When the light gets round to it, the cobalt shadow under that half-finished glass will be the first thing you look for, and the last thing you tire of.
