I’m Kai Reynolds. I make hard-edged grey structures and let exactly one place on each piece blow out into saturated aerosol and pour. London greys, Lagos colour. The rule is one burst per work, no more.

The register has to stay tight until it doesn’t
The building is vector-clean. Every angle of that glass pyramid is plotted to the decimal because the moment you let the structure go soft, the explosion reads as a mistake instead of a decision.
Ruby called it a compelling juxtaposition of stark geometry and vibrant chaos, and that’s the gap I’m working in. The chaos only works because the grey stays disciplined.
I masked the tip, laid the vector, then pulled the mask and hit it with three aerosol passes and a magenta pour while it was still wet. The colour moves like it’s under pressure, which is the point.

She’s right, and that’s because it’s the only one. I could have put bursts down the whole spine of the building—lots of artists would. More colour, more energy, more impact, yeah?
No. One burst makes you look at it. Ten bursts make you look past them.
The Shard already punches up. I’m not decorating it. I’m marking the moment it ignites and goes somewhere else.

If you like everything loose and gestural, this won’t work for you. The grey has to feel like architecture or the colour has nowhere to escape from.
If you want a London landmark played straight, also not this. The building’s recognisable, but the piece is about what happens when something contained finally breaks.
